yuy Forum on State-Owned Enterprises

The Asian Institute of Management (AIM), in cooperation with the AIM Policy Center and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, will hold a one-day forum titled From State-Owned Enterprises to World-Class Competitors: Creating Innovative and Entrepreneurial State-Owned Firms on November 11, 2009  at the AIM Conference Center Manila (ACCM) in Makati City, Philippines.

The forum will feature esteemed public leaders and CEOs from
China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and USA who have been successful in reforming state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to sustain growth and become more competitive in the face of political changes and increasing globalization.

Expected to attend are top-level executives representing SOEs from diverse industries in Asia that could benefit from the insights and best practices to be shared by the speakers.

This topic highlights success stories in transforming SOEs to become global competitors and the role played by SOE leaders in effecting this change. It also examines implications for SOEs’ business models, in terms of managing relations with government, changing corporate culture, re-organizing human resources, and  restructuring financial practices.

Privatization of State-Owned Enterprises: Challenges and Lessons Learned

This session examines the conditions of SOEs after privatization and the challenges SOE leaders face in its implementation. It identifies lessons learned and the successes and failures of strategies mapped out to privatize SOEs.

Fees

For regional delegates, a full registration fee of USD450 will cover two-night stay at the ACCM, a hotel within the AIM campus, and airport transfers. It also includes access to all sessions, conference kits and papers, and scheduled meals during the event.
