Overview: |
|
The Master in Management (MM) is an eleven-month full time advanced program in General Management, with a special focus on Leadership and Strategy Development. The course transforms mid-career managers into corporate strategists and General Managers. It turns out graduates who will become skillful and knowledgeable leader-managers, ready for career growth and challenge.
Acceptance into the Program is premised on certain qualifications: significant work experience at least six years, substantial supervisory/managerial experience at least three years. Therefore, it is assumed that the would-be student already has competence in at least one functional area, e.g., Finance, Marketing, Production, Human Resource, etc. The Program seeks to develop both intellectual and behavioral skills within the context of the functional areas, but from a general manager's point of view. This development of general leadership and management skills, attitudes and perspectives is the essence of the MM Program.

- 1. To create business value by managing the linkages between Marketing, Operations, HR, IT, and Finance and deliver maximum customer and stakeholder value, as well as become a responsible corporate citizen
- 2. To manage strategically by “sensing” the environment for business opportunities and threats, establishing direction, and crafting as well as implementing strategies to build and maintain competitive advantage
- 3. To lead for results by effectively influencing persons, work teams and the organization to commit to a shared vision, adapt quickly to change, build necessary capability, and produce “breakthrough” results
- 4. To learn on identifiables and as a group by knowing and by managing one's strengths and shortcomings, and having the ability to learn quickly, especially in dealing with unfamiliar situations and in aligning personal and group goals to the shared vision
- 5. To integrate and attaining breakthrough results since research has shown that to survive in the long run, it is no longer enough for organizations to deliver incremental gains in customer and stakeholder value.
